Fall Colors Big Horn Style

Posted in

The fall colors just south of Highway 335 on Creighton Street in Big Horn on Saturday during my afternoon bike ride made me glad I was packing a canon in my holster rather than a camera phone. The peek-a-boo clouds, Wyoming blue sky and fall colors mixed with summer green and newly fallen leaves on the unpaved street below made for a pleasant stop and click photo moment.

#4 Broncs Fall by 3 to #2 Camels

Down by 11 to the #2 ranked Campbell County Camels the Sheridan Broncs start the 4th quarter with a quarterback keeper as Kevin Bakkehaug dives into the end zone to bring the Broncs to within 5. A two point conversion pass is hauled in by Daniel Sessions to draw the Broncs within 3 of a tie.

Rams all over the Bulldogs (updated)

The Big Horn Rams allowed the Wheatland Bulldogs to get on the board first with 4:04 to go in the 1st quarter but then got a hand on the extra point kick attempt of Weatland's Jordan Castellanos. That diverted kick seemed to set the tone for the game as the Homecoming Big Horn Rams came on strong and never let up as they cruised to a 56 to 24 win over the Bulldogs.

Yes Indeed - Go Rams!

At 9:15 Friday morning the last float in the Big Horn Homecoming Parade says it all, "GO RAMS." Most of the Ram football players, except the holders of the banner, are on their last rest break aboard the homecoming float as the coaches and managers stand at the end of the trailer. It won't be long now until the #2 ranked Rams meet the Wheatland Bulldogs on the gridiron.

Little Guy Football at Sunset

Posted in

Tuesday's sunset over the Cowboys and Dolphins Football game serves as a reminder that the Little Guy Football season is drawing to a close. Only two evenings of 1st - 4th grade football remain while four nights of regular season for the 5th - 6th grade tackle football remain. It looks like there will be four nights of playoff football for the tackle teams - October 9, 10, 16 & 17.

The M198 towed 155mm howitzer may be going out-of-service but it definitely comes in-to-view as you drive past the Wyoming National Guard U. S. Army Reserve Center and Armory at 3219 Coffeen Avenue in Sheridan. Since entered into service by the United States Army and Marine Corps in 1979, over 1,600 units have been placed into operation.
