The Indian Paintbrush Festival is among the many, many things the passing of Senator Malcolm Wallop brings back to memory. On a hot afternoon on August 24, 2004 festival attendees enjoyed an afternoon on a hillside at Canyon Ranch near Big Horn to hear music by Bob Wyatt and his bagpipes, the Craft Brothers, the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra and John Haitt.

Is it Movie Actor Robert Duvall, Radio Station WKRP's oily sales manager Herb Tarlek or Sheridan Media's Jim Schellinger? You be the judge. Chamber Community Partner, Sheridan Media, hosted the monthly luncheon of the Chamber of Commerce Wednesday at the Best Western Sheridan Center.

In the first home swim meet of the season Tuesday the Lady Broncs under their new coach, Brent Moore, took to friendly water and came out on top of the Lady Bison from Buffalo by a score of 98 to 76. Buffalo finished first in 9 events to Sheridan's 3 but the Lady Broncs had the depth and led in the point total.

Call it what you like - in fact you can almost call it finished. The guard rails are in place, the signs are up, the chip seal is down, the striping has been applied, the shoulders have been dressed and the flaggers are gone. All that remains is seeding along the dressed shoulders and perhaps one more pass of the sweeper down the center to pick up dust and grit from the chip seal.

The Sheridan North Main Street Reconstruction Project accomplished another milestone with the installation of medians from 5th Street north to 11th Street in the past few days. Work continues with drilling and placement of rebar in the area between 1st and 5th Streets. On Monday morning a finished portion could be seen in front of the old Taylor School building at 1030 North Main Street.

The 4th annual Volunteers of America Northern Rockies Bandana Barn Dance was a huge success this past weekend.

These pictures were sent from Nicaragua on Monday to Tab Barker, as his Project Schoolhouse completed their project last week in the small community of Kiwaska, Nicaragua. Project Schoolhouse constructed a 1,000 square foot school house complete with running water.

Smoke is still rising from the Reservoir Fire Burnout in the Shell and Adelaide Reservoirs area. This view looking south from the Bird Farm Road, near Big Horn, shows considerable smoke in the sky at 6:00 pm Sunday.
