Fill the Stands We're Lookin' for Action

It is almost time to fill the grandstand for the 81st running of the Sheridan WYO Rodeo and the Sankey Rodeo Company, celebrating its 31st year, appears to have rounded up some rodeo livestock. The Contract Sponsor for the stock contractor this year is the Powder Horn.

Setting Up for a 5:00 pm Opening

The carnival in conjunction with the 81st Sheridan WYO Rodeo is setting up for its 5 pm opening. The carnival will be open Wednesday through Saturday at 5:00 PM each day. Wristbands will be $25.00 each as they were last year. Wednesday is the buddy night, two wristbands for $24.00. New rides for this year are: Truckin USA (cute kid ride), a super slide and a star trooper.

Brock Bomar Headed to National Finals

Brock Bomar from Sheridan will be one of five athletes and the only runner from Wyoming who will be attending the North American Final in Hershey, PA in August. Brock is shown here with the first place ribbons he won at the Wyoming State Meet in the 50 and 200 meter dash. At the Hershey National meet Brock will be competing in the 9-10 age group of the 200 meter dash on August 6th.

After The Concert

After the Powder River Let'er Buck Celebration showcasing the 67th Army Band and just two hours after a severe thunderstorm moved through Sheridan County just 8-miles northeast of Sheridan on Monday evening - this was the view from the fountain area of Whitney Commons looking east toward downtown Sheridan.

Lightning Strike

Lightning above Maier Soccer Field at Sheridan College at 6:11 pm Monday evening when the thunderstorm passed just northeast of Sheridan.

After the Rain

Rain couldn't began to dampen the spirits of the few hardy souls who turned out to hear local speakers Sam Western, Sam Morton and the 67th Army Band in concert at the Powder River Let'er Buck Celebration in Whitney Commons Monday evening.
