Colby Wollenman of Big Horn and Kayla Woodward of Sheridan received the highest honor that a Wyoming High School athlete can receive - The 2011 Milward Simpson Award. Colby earned 9 letters, 5 all-conference and 4-all state awards in basketball, football and soccer and is the first Big Horn male athlete to ever win the award.
Alton Miller, from Banner Wyoming, made the first stop to Stardom Friday evening at the Best Western Sheridan Center. Alton competed against seven other local talent contestants and came out on top in the Texaco Country Showdown - America's Largest Country Music Talent Show for the last 30 years.
The State high school rodeo finals started on Thursday at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds in Douglas. In Thursday morning action Big Horn's Casey Collins led the way in Steer Wrestling with a time of 5.88 - a faster time than the 7.29 he had last Saturday at the Sheridan County High School Rodeo where he makes this smooth transition from his horse "Hookem" onto the steer.

On November 23, 2010 WYDOT awarded a $1.3 million contract to Intermountain Construction and Materials of Gillette for a project that includes a pathway for bicycles and pedestrians from Vale Street to Sparrow Hawk Road. Exactly 7-months later the results can be seen in this photo as forms are being set and concrete is being poured.
