The National Trust for Historic Preservation has named Sheridan as one of its 2011 Dozen Distinctive Destinations - in order to make our area "THE" No. 1 destination you need to vote each and everyday until March 15th when the voting ends. A Thursday afternoon check shows Sheridan trailing Paducah, Kentucky by two percentage points (about 100 votes behind).

In a room full of monitors Cyndi Sheperd Godwin, Communications Supervisor in charge of the Dispatch Center describes how City/County emergency responders are capable of being tracked (in the center monitor) using the AVL (Automatic Vehicle Locating) System utilizing GPS (global positioning system).
