A Sheridan First

The "Sheridan Iron Works" sign on the building at A and Crook Streets in Sheridan was the first lighted outdoor sign in Sheridan. After many years of darkness the sign was re-lit with rope lighting for the 100th anniversary of the business in 2006. It was originally illuminated by 216 individual lights. Winter Wonderland

To some, Winter Wonderland is a famous Christmas song first published in 1934, but to Sheridanites it is a view down one of our many county roads. In this example it is the breathtaking view heading south on County Road 77, Little Goose Canyon Road, not far from Big Horn.

Sheridan out wrestles Buffalo

Up first and setting the tone for the Tuesday evening wrestling matches Sheridan's Derek Berrettini pinned Buffalo's Nathan Gilbert in 2:39 in the 119# weight class. Sheridan went on to beat Buffalo 57 to 18 by taking 10 of the 14 matches. Sheridan's next matches will be at the Miles City (Montana) Invitational on January 14th and 15th.

Larry Martoglio - Golf Coach of the Year

Sheridan High School Boys Head Golf Coach Larry Martoglio has been selected by the Wyoming Coaches Association as the 4A Boys Golf Coach of the Year for 2010. Scroll down to see Coach Martoglio's All-State Boys Golfers whose photo cut-out statues can be seen in the display case just inside the entry to Sheridan High School.

Eagles devour Wolves

In Dayton Friday evening the Lady Eagles of Tongue River devoured the Lady Wolves from Moorcroft. Sophomore #42 Tianne Main's four points helped make the final score 68 to 18 as she is seen here near the end of the game going for a two pointer. On Saturday the Lady Wolves will play at Big Horn while the Lady Eagles will take on Lovell at home at 4:00 pm.

Miss Wyoming, Alicia Grove

Miss Wyoming, Alicia Grove, during the Fashion Mall fashion show in Las Vegas. All 53 contestants for the Miss America Pageant wore fashions by Joseph Ribkoff, sponsor of the Miss America Organization, that they all got to keep. The pageant airs Saturday, January 15th on ABC.
