The Sheridan City Council discussed methods for setting and managing city utility rates at a work session on Thursday.

The Northern Wyoming Community College District Board of Trustees announced who the Interim President of Sheridan College would be at their monthly meeting Thursday night.

Earlier this month Sheridan College President Dr. Kevin Drumm announced that he would be leaving the Northern Wyoming Community College District to become the president of Broome College in New York. Drumm appeared as a guest on KROE'S Public Pulse program and reflected on a few of the things that were accomplished during his tenure.

U.S. Senator John Barrasso spoke on the Senate floor Thursday and urged his colleagues to vote “no” on the Reid health care bill.

Barrasso says that the health care bill will make things difficult on states such as Wyoming.

Montana-Dakota Utilities filed an application to raise electrical rates with the Wyoming Public Service Commission in August. The size of the increase has caused serious concern among MDU customers in northern Wyoming. If the increase is approved it would be an over 40% jump for some customers and a 31% increase on average.

The Sheridan Area Water Supply joint powers board met earlier this week and has come up with a solution administrator dilemma. Former SAWS administrator Jay Stender resigned in July 2008.
