School District 2 Board Adopts '10-'11 Budget

Sheridan County School District 2 trustees met for their budget adoption meeting Wednesday evening. The General Fund FY11 Budget in Revenues is $42,602,806 and the FY11 Expenditure Budget is $42,895,000. Expenditures are higher than revenue because assessed value in Sheridan County decreased over 32%.

The Sheridan County Library System Has A New Director—Possibly

The Sheridan County Library Board of Trustees made an offer to the potentially new Library Director Thursday morning. Library Trustee, Tony Wendtland:

He adds that if Siebersma accepts the position, they are not certain when he would be available to start. The current Director, Cathy Butler, is scheduled to remain in the position through August.

The Sheridan County School District One Board of Trustees approved their budget for fiscal year 2010-2011 at their monthly meeting Wednesday night. The District budgeted $14.3 million in projected revenue, which is a a 3.6% increase from last year, and $14.1 in expenditures, which is a 5.5% increase.

Starting in May of this year, True Colors Salon and Training Center in Sheridan began providing a special service for female Veterans as part of National Military Appreciation Month. That service has extended on through the summer explains True Colors Owner Stevie Phillips.

The Northern Wyoming Community College District Board of Trustees adopted their budget for the '10-'11 fiscal year Wednesday. Administration Vice President Cheryl Heath says this year's operating budget, which is just over 22-million, incorporates tuition, state appropriations and the 4-mil assessment received from Sheridan County:

Dr. Mark Englert will soon be heading to Gillette College to become their next Vice President. He is currently serving as the Vice President for Student Enrollment at Sheridan College, and was nominated by Dr. Paul Young, the recently-selected President of Sheridan College.

Morrison Probation Revoked; On to Prison

19-year-old Zachery Morrison violated his probation and will now be serving 5 - 8 years in prison.

On April 20th of this year, 19-year-old Zachery Morrison was given a suspended sentence and supervised probation per a plea agreement with the State. Morrison had plead guilty in December on one count of sexual abuse of a minor.
