This will be the first full school year with students in the new Tongue River High School. Just as that project was nearing completion, the District started construction on the other side of the county. The Big Horn Middle and High School is progressing a little behind schedule.
Sheridan County Commissioners adopted the Sheridan County Comprehensive Plan last December. County Planning Department efforts since that time have focused on implementing that plan. Rezoning several thousand acres near Dayton was one of the first large projects suggested by the plan.

Red Grade Road will be closed Thursday from at least 8 in the morning until noon. The truck and trailer that went over the side of the road a couple weeks ago will be removed and the heavy equipment used will completely block the road.
Sheridan County School District 1 held their August meeting last night. More students means more teachers, and that’s just what is necessary in the district. The Board approved hiring another kindergarten teacher so that more students could be served since registrations are well up from last year.
