CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming students scored lower on statewide assessments this year. The state Education Department reports that the 2013 PAWS proficiency rates declined across each grade level and content area compared to the 2012 exam.

Edwards Found Guilty Of Sexual Abuse Of A Minor

In Johnson County District Court on Tuesday, August 6th, Trevor Edwards was found guilty by a jury of one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree.

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi has made a few late tax payments on his house in Gillette since he started in the Senate in 1996.

Taste of Sheridan Menu Released, Volunteers Needed

The much anticipated menu for the fifth annual Taste of Sheridan, which takes place Sunday between 3 and 7 p.m., was released Wednesday morning during Public Pulse on Newstalk 930 KROE. Nancy Drummond with the North Main Association shares the scoop.

One of the changes in regulations developed by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission earlier this year is that shotguns using double aught or larger buckshot will now be legal for the taking of big or trophy game animals. Next Saturday, Game and Fish will be hosting a buckshot familiarization clinic to educate hunters and get them comfortable with the changes.

UPDATE 12:08 p.m.

Sheridan Fire-Rescue received a call at roughly 7:45 Wednesday morning about a fire in the parking lot of the Sheridan Holiday Inn. Crews were on scene for 45 minutes, extinguishing the flames and cooling the equipment with foam.

Jentel Presents

Tuesday night the Jentel Foundation showcased its current artists in residency there, with each giving their own presentations of their different arts. Sheridan Media's Judy Hagerott went down to the Sagebrush Community Art Center in the old train depot to check it out and brings us this story.

JCHC Board Addresses Marketing, Audits, Hospice Donations

At their last meeting the Johnson County Healthcare Center's Board of Trustees looked into marketing by the facility, audits, and donations to Hospice and the general fund.
