Five Sheridan College students competed in collegiate-level competitions at the 2013 Society for Range Management meeting this month and had a good showing.

Wyoming Department of Education Interim Director, Jim Rose, spoke over video chat to district superintendents of Wyoming's schools on Friday. He gave an update as to what he intends to do between now and early December, when Governor Matt Mead will appoint a permanent director.

A newly uncovered document from the Federal Aviation Administration shows that 81 governmental entities have requested permission to operate drones above American soil. But could they be coming to Wyoming? Sheridan Media's Chris Foy has the story.

The jury trial for Sheridan resident Miranda Mraz, who's charged with Felony Larceny for allegedly stealing money from the Eagles Club at 5th and Main in Sheridan on April 21 of last year continued Thursday. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter was there and has the story.

A special meeting between the Johnson County Fire District No. 1 from Buffalo, Powder River Fire District from Kaycee, and the Johnson County Commissioners was held Wednesday night at the Kaycee Fire Hall.

At their last meeting the Buffalo Johnson County Justice Center Joint Powers Board approved a bid of $5,970 for installation of power outlets in the dispatch center.
The lack of needed outlets was an oversight from construction of the facility.

The Buffalo Senior Center will have their annual Pie Auction this Friday at the center, but this year they will add a slight twist.

The Pie Auction will begin at 6:30pm and will feature not just pies but all kinds of baked goods, available for bidding during the auction.

UPDATE:
House Bill 112 has been sent back to committee for reworking due to vague language in an amendment. This essentially means the measure is off the table until next year.
