At their meeting Wednesday, the Sheridan Area Water Supply Board heard an update on current projects - including upgrades to the Big Goose and Sheridan Water Treatment Plants.

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill issued a message Wednesday that included video/audio of Legislative Service Office Liaison Ruth Sommers testifying before a joint education sub-committee in December.

Much of the first week of the Wyoming Legislature has centered around Senate File 104, legislation that would remove the state superintendent of public instruction as administrative head of the state Department of Education. The WDE would be run by a director appointed by Governor Matt Mead.

Wyoming’s revenue growth has slowed down, and Senate Majority Floor Leader Phil Nicholas (R-Laramie) says if the state doesn’t do something soon to adjust our spending expectations, we’ll be in trouble.

Buffalo's City Council had their first reading of Ordinance No. 1360, which will raise sewer rates across the board by 100% if passed on three readings. The council approved the first reading, but not before discussions that included the possibility of making the rate increases incrementally over time.

The Johnson County School District One Board of Trustees got an update on the progress at the new Cloud Peak School project, and even after a few setbacks, the project looks to be on schedule for its original June 1st completion date.

At their meeting Tuesday, the Johnson County Commissioners discussed the proposed fuel depot that has been a contentious issue in recent months.
