The Sheridan City Council elected to take a wait and see approach to awarding the bid for upgrades to the Big Goose and Sheridan Water Treatment Plants.

The Wyoming Secretary of State's Office hosted a presentation Tuesday night at the Sheridan Holiday Inn that focused on educating the public about investment fraud.

A semi-tractor and trailer crashed through a guardrail and into Mosier Gulch west of Buffalo Tuesday evening, resulting in the deaths of two occupants, a male and female, according to Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper Rich Burridge.

Buffalo City Works Director Les Hook reported to the City Council this evening that the water line has been repaired and flushed and water has been restored to the high school. Classes are expected to go on as scheduled on Wednesday.

In what appears to be the latest “shot across the bow” between Johnson County Attorney Ken DeCock and County Assessor Cindy Rogers, the two offices squared off in a verbal exchange at the county commissioner's meeting Tuesday.

Officials with the National Incident Management Team have confirmed the Gilead fire, which is burning in the Big Horn National Forest approximately 10 miles northeast from Buffalo and 8 miles from Story, has now reached 1720 acres.

The Sheridan County Commissioners Tuesday approved a resolution giving public notice of Sheridan County's intent to amend their rules and regulations pertaining to subdivisions within the County, in particular, how water rights are disposed of when property is subdivided.

Last week, 24 people were arrested in or around Sheridan for charges related to distribution of methamphetamine.

The Sheridan Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the first ever Sheridan Brewfest at Whitney Plaza from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, and tickets purchased in advance are $10 off.

The Sheridan City Council will work with a light agenda this evening, as there are no items under old or new business. The only item that the Council will be considering is the consent agenda, which has a bid award to COP Construction for upgrades to both water treatment plants.
