Sheridan County Moving Forward on DeSmet Deal Alone

The Sheridan County Commissioners announced today they are planning to make a 99-year lease agreement with the Game and Fish Department concerning water in Lake DeSmet without Johnson County. Sheridan County Commissioner, Bob Rolston, explains.

Sheridan Fire-Rescue is launching a new fire prevention and education program, thanks to financial help from a handful of businesses within the community.

WWA Hits the Road To Educate About Wilderness Designation

The Wyoming Wilderness Association is hosting a conference today in Casper to kick off a statewide educational campaign surrounding wilderness area designations.

The Gilead wildfire is now 6140 acres and 50 percent contained. Assets assigned to the fire today include one helicopter with a 12 person rappel crew, two engines, and the Incident Command  Team for approximately 30 personnel.  The cost to date is $2.2 million.

Two illegal campfires in the Big Horn National Forest have been attributed to starting wildfires.
