Voter Turnout Statewide Only 50 Percent

The Wyoming Secretary of State's Office reports that statewide voter turnout for Tuesday's Primary Election were some of the lowest numbers in the past 30 years. State Elections Director Peggy Nighswonger says that the numbers should pick up come November.

Northern Cheyenne Tribal School Start Postponed One Week

A media release from the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Schools announced the first day of school has been pushed back one week due to a water leak. Gaynell Real Bird, superintendent, said school was originally scheduled to start today, but classes will now begin Monday, Aug. 27.

Federal School Lunch Regs May Leave Students Hungry

Federal school lunch regulations going into effect this fall may leave some Sheridan County School District #1 students with growling stomachs.

Sheridan County School District #1's business manager, Jeremy Smith, reported to the board of trustees that investigators have ruled out arson as the cause of the district's bus barn fire a few weeks ago.

Sheridan County School District #1 had their last meeting before the beginning of the school year last night. The board of trustees briefly reviewed state Proficiency Assessment for Wyoming Students, or PAWS, scores.

The unofficial results for the Wyoming Primary Election are in and there were a couple of tight races in Sheridan County. For Sheridan City Council Ward 1, Anthony Fairbanks and Shelleen Smith will advance to the General Election, with Fairbanks garnering the majority of the votes.

Johnson County Election Results For The 2012 Primary

With all 16 precincts in Johnson County reporting, the results from the primary election have been released. The results are unofficial at this time, according to Johnson County Clerk Vicki Edelman.

Buffalo Council Approves Proposal For Financial Statements

Buffalo's City Council, at Tuesday Evening's meeting, approved a proposal from Dooley and Jelly, CPAs to provide financial statements to the city, in addition to the annual audit services they already are contracted for.
