NWF Report Bashes Coal Trains For Noise, Pollution

The National Wildlife Federation released a report criticizing the Powder River Basin's increased coal train traffic, alleging the concerns of pollution and noise caused by the trains outweighs the beneficial economic productivity.

Friday At Johnson County Fair: Youth Rodeo, Dance In Park

Friday features the Youth Rodeo, Rodeo Slack as well as 4H and FFA Round Robin events at the Johnson County Fair.

The Youth Rodeo kicks off at 9am this morning in the arena.

At 10 am is the Pie Contest and the Talent Contest will be at 2pm.

Johnson County Fair Results For Goats, Swine, Poultry

The Johnson County Fair continues, and more results from livestock and other competitions were released.
In the Goat competition, Jaycie Arndt had multiple Awards in various categories.

SMH Gets Few Relevant Leapfrog Stats

Sheridan Memorial Hospital regularly participates in consumer satisfaction surveys and uses the data it receives to fine tune its services. Among with the work-intensive process of transferring over to an Electronic Medical Records system, the hospital recently got results from a Leapfrog survey, which is geared toward helping employers gather hospital statistics to help them make decisions regarding employee benefits.
