7 New Fires on Crow Reservation

Lightning across the Sarpy Hills Tuesday night has sparked seven new fires on the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana. A media release from the Bureau of Indian Affairs states that the East Sarpy fire has covered over 40,000 acres since it was first detected Wednesday morning.

Sheridan Junior High School will have a new School Resource Officer when school begins this year. Officer Sam Damon will be the newest SRO this fall, and is one of two Resource Officers in Sheridan Schools.

Untrimmed Tree Causes Small Fire in Banner

It's no big secret that dry conditions in the area are putting forests and communities at risk for wildfires. Last week, a small fire started in Banner that knocked out power to hundreds of people for a few hours overnight.

Johnson County Fair Results For Dog, Cat Shows

Johnson County's Fair week began Sunday and before livestock events were the pet shows.
Sunday was the Dog Show, and results were made available Tuesday.

Quynn Kennedy won the Rally Category. Champion Obedience went to Ellie Renkert, and the Best Of Show was won by Jamie Bunning.

Holds Workshop On Open Containers, Sidewalk furniture

The City Of Buffalo hosted a public workshop Tuesday evening in City Hall to discuss the city's open container law, the possibility of changing it and whether or not to allow furniture on city sidewalks.

ASIST Schedules Sheridan Suicide Prevention Workshop

A two-day workshop in Sheridan called Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, or ASIST, is coming to Sheridan next month. The class is targeted to those who might be in a situation where they'll have to talk to someone about suicide, such as police officers, teachers or emergency reponders.

Buffalo Looking To Clean Ditch Of A/C Units

At their last meeting, the Buffalo City Council learned from City Attorney Ben Kirven that he has been in contact with the owner of the Econolodge on East Hart Street and discussed removal of air conditioning units that have been dumped in the city-owned ditch and adjacent property behind the motel.

Wednesday At The Johnson County Fair: Swine, Goats, Poultry

Wednesday's livestock events at the Johnson County Fair include swine, goats, rabbits, and poultry.

Swine Showmanship begins this morning at 8am.

The Meat Goat Show starts at 11 followed by the Dairy Goat Show at noon.

The rabbit show begins at 1pm followed by poultry at 2:30.
