The first Farmer's Market of the year will be Thursday at Whitney Commons, across from the library. Local growers will be showing off and selling their harvest.

Sheridan County Approves Budget

The process of crafting a budget for Sheridan County began back in February. The County Commissioners held a public hearing Monday night, where there was no public comment taken and ultimately approved a $15.9 general fund budget Tuesday morning at their regular meeting.

Decker Coal Sues Ambre Energy Over Mine Agreement

Cloud Peak Energy has filed a law suit against its business partner, Ambre Energy Ltd., regarding a dispute on the future use of the Decker Coal Mine 20 miles north of Sheridan. Ambre Energy bought a 50 percent interest in the mine in November of last year.

Council Tables Rezone Request

Mr. Hart is looking to rezone his property on KROE Lane from B-Business to M-1 Industrial.

A petition to rezone 2.6 acres of land at 600 KROE Lane was tabled by the Sheridan City Council Monday night. The owner of the property, Mr. Hart, is seeking to rezone the property from B-1 Business to M-1 Industrial to make the property more marketable.

Substitute UPN Agreement Approved

It's taken some time, as the Sheridan City Council has tabled the item twice, but Monday night the agreement with UPN to provide fiber optics to the City was unanimously approved.
