The 4th annual Blue Ribbon Steak Cook-Off was one of the highlights of the 3rd Thursday Street Festival in downtown Sheridan. Six teams squared off to take home this year's top prize, but when the smoke cleared, it was Joe Crump and the team from WWC Engineering that won first place.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has announced that Thayne Aubrey is the new agricultural crop damage technician for the Sheridan region. Aubrey's position is seasonal, and will extend through December of this year.
A special public meeting was called Wednesday morning by the Johnson County Commission to discuss a bill submitted by County Assessor Cindy Rogers for legal advice on the proposed lease of Lake DeSmet by the Wyoming Game and Fish.
The Sheridan County School District #2's board of trustees approved their FY13 budget last night, which totaled $65,133,000. The General fund encompassed a $44 million revenue budget and $45 million expenditure budget.
