Sheridan Media has learned that the Powder River County Sheriff is advising residents to evacuate as the Ash Creek Fire continues to move to the North and East.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Buffalo Field Office, in a media release, announced it has implemented fire restrictions on public lands in Sheridan, Johnson, and Campbell counties effective June 29, due to dry conditions and high fire danger.

Representative Cynthia Lummis voted Friday to prosecute the U.S. Attorney General, Eric Holder, for contempt of Congress.

In the past week, Sheridan saw multiple days with temperatures of 100 degrees or above.
