CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming's congressional delegation is decrying the raiding of Abandoned Mine Land money guaranteed to Wyoming in order to help pay for transportation work and lower student loan rates.
The Bighorn National Forest Service announced late Friday that Stage 1 fire restrictions for the Bighorn National Forest will go into effect at midnight Sunday, July 1st. Forest Supervisor Bill Bass said that low snowpack and an unseasonably warm and dry spring have prompted the restrictions.
A good number of people showed up for a public meeting on the draft master plan for the Sheridan Raiload Historic District.
The draft master plan for the Sheridan Railroad Historic District is available for public review and comment at the Downtown Sheridan Association website. Thursday night a public meeting was held to go over some of the details of that plan.
The National Interagency Coordination Center Incident Management Situation Report lists a new fire in Albany County this morning. The fire is reported to cover 4,000 acres of county land 28 miles northeast of Wheatland. Evacuations of nearby areas are in effect.
City Council Approves One Item, Tables Another at Special Meeting
The Sheridan City Council held a special meeting over the noon hour Thursday, where they approved on second reading an assessment ordinance for the Sheridan Commercial Park SID #78 that will provide infrastructure improvements to the park.
