The Johnson County Commissioners considered employee retirement benefits options and charitable donations last week.

The Lighted Christmas Parade was in downtown Buffalo Saturday evening. The event was full of shopping, fun, and free chili.

The first batch of Wyoming Whiskey sold out Saturday morning in less than half an hour. Gene In works at Star Liquors and was totally amazed by the turnout.

Customers were already in the parking lot at Star Liquor as early as seven.

The Sagebrush Community Art Center was packed for the opening of 92 year-old Mary Burgess's Art Show called “Looking Back.” The show is a retrospective exhibit, featuring her work from several decades in many mediums and artistic styles.

While the final count of attendees isn't in just yet, volunteers at the 22nd Annual Community Holiday Dinner say it was by far the best year ever. The Holiday Inn Convention Center was packed full of people enjoying a free meal and volunteering to help support the event. Even Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance.

In 1988, the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Auxiliary started the Trees of Light ceremony as a means to raise funds for the hospital. In 1989, the name was changed to Trees of Love. The ceremony is held every year on the first Sunday in December.

The Sheridan Recreation District is looking to fill the position of adult sports specialist. Rec. District Executive Director Richard Wright explains what those interested in the position should do.
