It's been a week since registered voters in Wyoming have been able to request absentee ballots for next month's General Election. Sheridan County Elections Supervisor Brenda Kekich says that they've been pretty busy.

At Tuesday's meeting, the Buffalo City Council approved a request from Angela Jarvis with the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce to close Main Street for the annual Halloween Monster March.

Johnson County's Commissioners considered a request from County Sanitarian Rick Durfee to purchase a zero-turn mower for the county-run Mikesell/Potts Recreation Area at Lake DeSmet.

Justin Gerard, former Buffalo City Councilman, had his preliminary hearing Wednesday at the Campbell County Courthouse in Gillette. The state's case was found to have probable cause, and the case to be bound over to District Court for further proceedings.

Sheridan resident Pete Schoonmaker, who's the President and CEO of Summit Gas Resources, made it known Wednesday that he'll be running for the Wyoming House District 30 seat as a write-in candidate.

Game and Fish officials, along with local law enforcement, responded to a report that a bear was in town this morning behind the Heritage Towers, near the YMCA. Tim Thomas, with the Game and Fish said no bear was found and emergency responders stepped down after an hour-long search.

Wyoming Governor, Matt Mead, joined Public Pulse host, Kim Love, on Tuesday. Love asked the governor if he wanted to weigh in on the Lake DeSmet issue involving the disparities between Sheridan and Johnson counties regarding a 99-year water lease agreement with the Game and Fish.
