Sheridan County Airport to Close For 48 Hours This Weekend

Ther Sheridan County Airport will be closed for 48 hours during the upcoming weekend.

The Sheridan County Airport will be closed to all incoming and outgoing flights this Friday beginning at 7 am through Sunday at 7 am. Airport Manage John Stopka says that the closure has to do with runway construction.

At Tuesday's Sheridan County School District 1 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board and Superintendent Sue Belish honored Barbarann Gill, who has retired after over twenty years as Transportation Coordinator for the District.

Sheridan County Approves Budget Amendment

At Tuesday's Sheridan County Commission meeting, the Board unanimously approved a Budget Amendment Resolution to transfer unencumbered and unexpended funds.

Beginning July 1st, the Sheridan Police Department will be conducting VIN and HIN inspections on a schedule basis only. Currently the P.D. does inspections pretty much anytime throughout the week.

Buffalo Council Denies Waiving of Fees for County

The Buffalo City Council, at their meeting Tuesday night, denied a request from the Johnson County Commissioners to waive the fees associated with the proposed new recycling center which the county is funding.

Jo Co Commission Hires New Assistant

The Johnson County Commissioners extended an offer of employment for the commissioner's assistant position that will become vacant with the retirement this Friday of current assistant Peggy Sillivan.
