Emergency Management Receives More Sandbags

The sandbags keep piling up outside the City's Service Center thanks to the countless volunteers who have donated their time filling sandbags.

Emergency management officials with Sheridan County and the City of Sheridan along with a throng of volunteers have been busy filling sandbags at the City Service Center.

Part of Wednesday's Sheridan City Council budget work session dealt with Sheridan Fire-Rescue and their budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Minimal Amount of Water to be Released from Park Reservoir

City of Sheridan Water Utilities officials plan to travel up to Park and Big Horn Reservoirs Thursday, May 26th. Currently there are 25 Cubic Feet per Second (CFS) coming into Park.

I-90 Re-Opens!

WYDOT has announced that I-90 is now open, as is Decker Road and Montana Highway 314.

Word from WYDOT Region 4 Public Involvement Specialist Ronda Holwell this afternoon: I-90 has reopened.

Emergency Management Continues to Address Flooding in Sheridan County

Tuesday night's temporary -- and voluntary -- evacuation of residents of Downer Addition in Sheridan County was caused by the storm that brought heavy rain to much of the County late afternoon and early evening.

Sheridan College Provides Temporary Shelter

Red Cross NE Wyoming Branch Manager Susan Barnes outside Crook Hall at Sheridan College.

Sheridan College opened up one of their residency halls last night to provide a temporary shelter to those displaced by flooding in Montana, and for any of the Downer Addition residents who were temporarily evacuated Tuesday night.

Meadowlark Elementary Ground Broken

While the clouds contain the raindrops, District 2 dignitaries, along with representatives from Delta Construction and TSP Architects and Engineers break ground May 24th on the new Meadowlark Elementary School.

The rain stopped briefly for the Tuesday morning groundbreaking ceremony held on the site of the soon-to-be-constructed new Meadowlark Elementary School.

Indian Health Service Clinics Ready

Crow / Northern Cheyenne Hospital

Per a media release from Charlene Johnson with Indian Health Services in Billings, the outpatient clinic at the Crow/Northern Cheyenne Indian Health Service (IHS) Hospital remains closed. The emergency department continues to be on divert.

SHS to Host Rodeo Competition

Sheridan High School Sophomore Kylee Cahoy and SHS Junior Trent Kelly will compete with their teammates in the Memorial Weekend Sheridan High School Rodeo at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.

Sunday, May 29th and Monday, May 30th, the Sheridan High School Rodeo Club plays host to the spring high school rodeo competition.
