It was a fast track over the weekend for the 3rd Annual Sheridan Media Pinewood Derby Classic at Hammer Chevrolet in Sheridan. Local businesses squared off Saturday to see who had concocted the speediest derby car.

Assessor Finds Tax Issues, Commission Corrects Them

Johnson County Assessor Cindy Rogers brought more tax assessment issues to the attention of the commissioners at last week's meeting, and they agreed to fix the issues.

The Sheridan County Historical Society has announced that the Peter Kiewit Foundation has awarded them a grant in the amount of $22,500.

Mary Ellen McWilliams with the Historical Society says that they have already received a portion of the grant.

Vincent Scott Sentencing

26-year-old Sheridan resident Vincent Scott was sentenced Friday in 4th Judicial District Court in Sheridan. Last year in October, after a four-day trial, Scott was found guilty of three felonies and three misdemeanors.

Recycling Center Building: Back to the Drawing Board

The joint Buffalo/Johnson County Recycling Center building that is in the drawing stages was sent back to the engineers for changes by the Johnson County Commission at a meeting Wednesday.
