The 10th annual 3-on-3 Hoop Jam basketball tournament gets underway tomorrow in Sheridan. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.

The Wyoming Business Council approved nearly $11 million in grant applications Thursday in Riverton. The Business Council approved 2.5 million for infrastructure for a high-tech business park in Sheridan and $978,000 for Sheridan County to purchase office space for a high-tech business incubator. Crews from Sheridan Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 1364 Highland Avenue shortly after 2 pm Thursday. Fire Marshal Brian Songer explains that the investigation is ongoing as to what exactly caused the fire.

Sheridan County School District One received a student enrichment grant through the Wyoming Department of Education Thursday. This is the third consecutive year that the District has been awarded the grant. District One Superintendent Sue Belish explains what the grant is used for.

The 2010 Miss Wyoming Scholarship Pageant will be held at the WYO Theatre in Sheridan Saturday evening. Sheridan Media's Mary Jo Johnson has this preview.

The trial of Timothy Paul Schaeffer began Wednesday afternoon in 4th Judicial District Court, after a 12-person jury was selected earlier in the morning. Sheridan Media's Mary Jo Johnson with the report.

In a media announcement released late Wednesday, the City of Sheridan stated that it will install a test traffic control measure at the intersection of Wyoming Avenue and Whittier Street later this week. The test measure will be installed in response to a neighborhood petition during the transportation plan process.

It has been a little over two months since members of the Wyoming Army National Guard's 115th Fires Brigade returned from their year long deployment in Kuwait and Iraq. That deployment was the largest in Wyoming's history as 751 soldiers from the Cowboy State were part of the mission.
