The Sheridan County Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing Wednesday night on proposed amendments to the County's building standards resolution. In April of this year, the County Commissioners instructed staff to draft a resolution amending the building standards and to hold a series of public meetings to receive input on those amendments.

In a media release issued by the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, members of the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office and the Northeast Enforcement Team arrested 46-year-old Sheridan resident Troy Houston, for two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance/ Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The renovation of the 4th floor at the Sheridan County Courthouse is nearly complete, which means that the County Public Works Department is in the process of moving into their new home. This will pose a bit of an inconvenience this Friday says Sheridan County Public Works Director Rod Liesinger.

Operation Lifesaver and Sheridan Fire Rescue would like to remind Sheridan residents to use caution when driving through or near railroad crossings. Fire Marshal Brian Songer says common sense will go along way when it comes to railroad crossing safety.

All trustees were in attendance at last night's Sheridan County School District 1 board meeting in Ranchester.

Action taken included approval of Zack Cummings to replace Mick Johnson to the Sheridan County School District 1 Recreation District board. Johnson's 9-year term expires this summer.

The board approved contributing $2,500 to the DARE Program for the 2010-2011 school year.

At Tuesday's Sheridan County Commission meeting, commissioners formally adopted a Smoke-Free policy that will go into effect for all County buildings, vehicles and equipment. It will not, however, include smokeless tobacco. Commissioner Bob Rolston says.

Tandem Productions will kick off its 16th season of children's summer theater tonight with their production of Music Man Jr. at the WYO Theater. The Music Man is an American musical classic tale that follows salesman Harold Hill on his journey to River City, Iowa, where he meets and falls in love with Librarian Marian Paroo.
