The first ever boat inspection in the Sheridan region for aquatic invasive species took place Friday morning at the Sheridan Regional Game and Fish Office. Game and Fish Information Specialist Warren Mischke says that a Bighorn resident voluntarily hauled his boat in for inspection.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A spokesman for Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Corporation says up to 6,800 gallons of diesel fuel spilled from two locomotives that crashed in the Big Horn River and along its bank this week. Two locomotives and four freight cars derailed Wednesday when a southbound train hit a boulder on the track about five miles south of Thermopolis.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Public Service Commission has approved rate hikes for two utilities with customers in the state. The commission on Friday approved Rocky Mountain Power's proposal to increase overall rates by 5.1 percent in July and 1.9 percent in February to generate another $35.5 million per year.

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - Jackson Hole Fire is swearing in a 33-year veteran of the department as its new fire chief. The Teton County Board of Commissioners announced the appointment of Willy Watsabaugh Thursday afternoon. He had been serving as interim fire chief but was sworn in to his new permanent post Friday morning.

Public Works wrapped up their portion of the City of Sheridan Budget Work Sessions Friday afternoon, covering the topics of Capital Improvement Projects and Fleet Management.
