Child Advocacy Services of the Big Horns held their 2nd annual Light of Hope Breakfast Friday morning at the Historic Sheridan Inn. CASA honored Tom Racette as their 2010 Champion For Children. Racette comments on being this year's recipient.

The Sheridan Recreation District has been utilizing and occupying the old Highland Park School for a little over three years now. That will soon change however, as plans are to build the new Meadowlark Elementary School on the current site, meaning students at Meadowlark will relocate this fall to the old Highland Park facility.

Fans of classical guitar will enjoy a free presentation tonight at the Sheridan College C-Tel. Classical guitarist Kevin Garry will present a recital of lyrical 20th Century works, and joining him on four Spanish- and Portuguese-influenced songs will be Soprano Karen Clift. Clift tells us how this came to be.

Despite some ominous looking clouds, Mother Earth cooperated for the Earth Day celebrations held in Sheridan's Kendrick Park yesterday afternoon. An estimated 400 people attended the Earth Day gathering. Some came for the "recycle run," some to check out the over 20 green exhibits, while others came for some good ol' fashioned tree planting.
