SAWS Board Approves Amendment To Operating Agreement

The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board made quick work of a light agenda at their monthly meeting Wednesday. The Board agreed to amend the operating agreement between SAWS and the City of Sheridan.

At Tuesday night's Sheridan County School District 2 board meeting, Assistant Superintendent Tom Sachse went over some of the results of the most recent Youth Risk Behavior Survey for 2009. The areas surveyed covered areas regarding injury and violence, tobacco use, alcohol and other drug use, sexual behaviors and nutrition and weight.

Three vehicles were involved in an accident Wednesday afternoon on Brundage Lane in Sheridan. Rob Simpson was involved in the wreck, and he explains his recollection of the crash.

School District 1 April Meeting

At last night's School District 1 board meeting, Trustees first met in Executive Session to discuss staffing for the next school year. All faculty and staff who are not retiring have been retained, and there is one opening for a Kindergarten teacher on the Big Horn side of the District.

Railroad Crossing Closed Today

Word from Rod Myers with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad indicates that the railroad is going to have the Dayton cut across, Highway 343 railroad crossing out today from 8 am until 3 pm.

Personnel will be doing track work, and detour and road closure signs will be in place.
