Its been a week since the transfer of ownership occurred at the Sheridan Holiday Inn. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the story on what's in store for the hotel.

The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees held a special meeting Wednesday to approve the purchase of digital mammography equipment in the amount of $231,308. The Hospital Foundation began raising funds for the equipment last fall with the 1st annual Pink Link run/walk that raised over $65,000.

Providing additional housing for students on campus is something that officials with Sheridan College have addressed head on over the past couple of years. The Whitney Villas and the Lofts have of course provided more available rooms on campus, but they have also provided a whole new type of atmosphere for the students as well.

Today is the final day to submit applications for the state's home heating help program. The LIEAP (lee-ap) program helps low-income families cover the costs of heating their homes between the months of October and May for unregulated heat, and from October 15th through June 15th for regulated heat sources, such as gas and electric.
