During an information-packed Sheridan County School District 1 Board of Trustees meeting Monday evening in Ranchester, two main agenda items filled quite a bit of the three-hour gathering.

Upon the recommendation of Sheridan County Fire Warden Bill Biastoch and the Fire Chiefs of the Rural Fire Protection Districts, the Sheridan County Commissioners have rescinded Resolution 10-07-025 to remove the partial fire restrictions imposed August 3. Lifting of the fire ban is effective as of 10:00 a.m., October 19, 2010.

The race for Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction is one of the more heated races this year. The two running candidates, Mike Massie and Cindy Hill both spoke at Monday's forum. Mrs. Hill was the first to speak:

David Wendt was the sole candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives at Monday's election forum at Sheridan College, as Wyoming's current U.S. Representative, Cynthia Lummis, was not in attendance.

With just two weeks to go before the general election, the first of two candidate panels, sponsored by the Sheridan Chamber of Commerce, was held at Sheridan College last night. Candidates for the national and state races, as well as Sheridan County Commissioners were Monday's panel speakers. So how successful were last night's panelists in persuading audience members?
