Forage On Elk Refuge Slightly Below Average

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - Biologists estimate that elk should have about 13,653 tons of forage on the National Elk Refuge heading into the winter. National Elk Refuge biologist Eric Cole says that's good news for the elk, even if the figure is slightly below the average of 14,348 tons.

You may not have heard the news yet, but this Wednesday is to be the first-ever World Statistics Day. Fifteen federal statistics agencies are hosting this week's event, which is called “National Statistics:Sound Science, Sound Policy, Strong Democracy,” and it will be held in Washington, DC.
