BOOT BARN PREPARES TO OPEN MONDAY

Last December the Corral West building in Sheridan caught fire. Boot Barn had just purchased the business, along with all the other Wyoming Corral West locations. Nearly six months later, the building is getting a facelift and preparations are underway to officially re-open Boot Barn in Sheridan.

HOSPITAL BOARD DISCUSSES PRELIMINARY BUDGET NUMBERS

The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees got their first look at the 2010 budget. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the details.

GOVERNOR FREUDENTHAL ADDRESSES STATE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AMIDST RECESSION

During his monthly visit on KROE'S Public Pulse program, Governor Dave Freudenthal spoke about the idea of stretching out state funded construction projects to compensate for the change in the state's economic outlook.

Freudenthal says for now, most projects will continue as planned.

LATE NIGHT SHENANIGANS TO TAKE STAGE AT THE WYO THEATER THIS WEEKEND

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HOLD SPECIAL MEETING

The Sheridan County Commissioners held a special meeting yesterday to clean up a few things that were missed at last week’s regular commission meeting. County Commissioner Mike Nickel tells us why they delayed awarding the bid on some construction projects:

NORTH MAIN NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION PRESENTS MASTER PLAN TO CITY PLANNING COMMISSION

A master plan has been developed for the north end of the City of Sheridan that would attempt to create a northern gateway into the City. The City Planning Commissioners were presented with the plan at a meeting last night. Ben Herman with Clarion Associates describes the purpose of the plan:

WYDOT PRESENTS STATE TRANSPORTATION PLAN TO COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Nearly half of the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s 2009 revenue is coming in the form of Federal dollars. WYDOT presented their 2009 State Transportation Improvement Plan to the Sheridan County Commissioners, Tuesday afternoon. District 4 encompasses parts of Sheridan, Campbell, Johnson, Crook and Weston Counties.

SHERIDAN COUNTY JUVENILE JUSTICE LOOKING FOR AGENCY TO PROVIDE DRUG AND ALCOHOL TREATMENT FOR JUVENILES

The Sheridan County Juvenile Justice Joint Powers Board was unable to take any action at their meeting Tuesday due to a lack of a quorum. However; the two board members that were present did hear an update on the juvenile drug and alcohol program. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.

NO HIGHWAY FATALITIES OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND

The Wyoming Highway Patrol reports that there were no fatalities on state highways over the three day holiday weekend. Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Stephen Townsend.

Townsend said that the final numbers for DUI arrests were not yet available, but that the overall numbers in general were about average for the Memorial Day weekend.
