The 1st annual Blue Ribbon Cook-off in Sheridan is coming up soon. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the details.

The Sheridan County Planning and Zoning Commission is recommending that the county put a freeze on any future subdivisions that are located within the Class 5 Groundwater Vulnerability areas. County Planner Mark Reid on why the freeze is needed.

As to what area will most be affected by the freeze.

A routine traffic stop 13 miles west of Laramie Tuesday morning resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of psilocybin mushrooms, which ended up being largest single seizure of mushrooms ever made by state troopers. Wyoming Highway Patrol Sergeant Stephen Townsend.

Part of the Sheridan County Comprehensive Plan stated that Sheridan County should think about regulating development in areas where the groundwater is vulnerable to contamination. The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality classifies the potential for contamination based on several factors including groundwater levels.

The first two Third Thursday Street Festivals have seen unprecedented attendance. Organizers asked the Sheridan City Council to modify their event permit due to the success of the first two festivals.

Chad Franklin is one of the festival organizers and he tells us why expanding the area where alcohol can be served is such a big deal.

Sheridan County Commissioners met Tuesday at the courthouse for their regular meeting. The County will spend nearly $100,000 for improvements to Upper Cat Creek Road. They awarded the contract to DCM Construction in Sheridan.

Wyoming needs to take a look at its bank account and figure out how much will be needed in the future. That’s the advice from Equality State Policy Center researcher Sarah Gorin amid the debate over whether Wyoming should raise severance taxes or not.

A New Mexico man escaped injury when his pickup truck caught fire on Interstate 90 yesterday. Andrew Wilson from Las Vegas, New Mexico was traveling eastbound just outside of Sheridan on Monday afternoon when his 2005 GMC Sierra pickup started to overheat. When the vehicle started to lose power Wilson pulled over and opened the hood. Flames erupted from the engine compartment.
