Sheriff's Office Investigating A String Of Burglaries in Dayton And Ranchester

There's been a recent rash of burglaries in Ranchester and Dayton. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.

Over the past three weeks there have been numerous burglaries in the town's of Dayton and Ranchester. Sheridan County Sheriff Dave Hoffmeier explains what's been going on.

Ranchester Council Mulls Changes To Several Ordinances

Just how high of a fence is too high? That's a question that the Ranchester Town Council has been pondering recently. Currently, a fence in the front yard can be no more than four feet high and no more than six feet high in the back yard.

In an effort to clean up fire district boundaries the Sheridan County Commissioners approved several petitions to add to the area covered by the Big Horn Rural Fire Protection District. A recent examination of district boundaries showed parcels of land throughout the county that are not covered by a fire district.

County Commissioners Talk Budgets And Bridges

The Sheridan County Commissioners approved a $28 Million budget for 2010. The final budget is more than a 7% cut from last year. The commissioners also reviewed and accepted the annual financial statements. Commissioner Bob Rolston says the County stayed well under budget last year.
