Thursday may be a tough day to get around in some parts of Sheridan as there are several important closures motorists need to know about. City of Sheridan Project Manager Joe Schoen.

Schoen explains that it isn't just Brundage Street that motorists should be aware of.

The Ranchester Town Council approved to move forward with a grant application through the State Loan and Investment Board to replace an aging water line in town. Ranchester Grant Administrator Melinda Johnson explains why the grant application needed to be approved as soon as possible.

In less than a month Sheridan County residents will have their say as to whether or not to renew the capital facilities tax. County Commissioner Tom Ringley says the cap tax shouldn't be confused with the optional one cent sales tax that can be used for a number of different things.

The phone lines are now open to make appointments for public wellness screenings for the annual blood draws offered by Sheridan Memorial Hospital as part of the 2009 Health Fair coming up in September.

The blood draws will be held August 10th through the 21st in the lobby of the hospital from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. weekdays. There will not be a Saturday blood draw this year.

Two Billings, Montana men face charges of aggravated assault and battery in Sheridan County. 25-year-old Leo Pinnick and 18-year-old Walker Takes Horse made their initial appearance in Sheridan County Circuit Court on Monday.

The current Sheridan Pathway System stops at 8th Street going north and then continues through Thorne-Rider Park on the north side of 11th Street. Later this fall, pathway users will be able to cross under the 11th Street bridge that will connect Thorne-Rider to the flood control levee just west of Marion Street.

Sheridan's City Council held their second regular meeting of July last night. The City of Sheridan will apply for a nearly $500,000 grant from the Environmental Protection Administration to help use some landfill waste. The City recently completed a study to determine if there was a use for the gas generated by closed cells.

The Sheridan City Council passed an ordinance on third reading that allows the Council to use the dilapidation account to cover future building fee waivers granted by the Council. City Councilor Steve Brantz tells us there are limited funds in that account.

Saturday morning Sheridan Police were called to the Video Depot on Coffeen Avenue after they reported a burglary. Police Detective Sergeant Tom Henry says an unknown number of suspects forced their way through the back entrance to the store. A safe containing more than $1,000 cash plus numerous videos and video games were taken.
