HUGE CROWDS IN DOWNTOWN SHERIDAN

The Wyoming Rehab Wild West Hoop Jam had a small change of venue this year but certainly not less participation. The teams registered Friday night and Saturday was near perfect weather for the 3 on 3 tournament. While temperatures climbed into the 80’s and the asphalt began to heat up… so did the players.

SCRATCH AND SNIFF EVENT FILLS KENDRICK PARK WITH CANINES

The first ever Sheridan Scratch and Sniff day at Kendrick Park was a huge success. The day started off with a five or ten kilometer run followed by events like the agility course and bobbing for hot dogs.

MOLESTATION PLEA

GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A former day care worker at Campbell County Memorial Hospital entered a no contest plea to a charge that he molested a child at the day care. Shawn A. Hart, 22, entered his plea Thursday to a charge of taking immodest, immoral or indecent liberties with a child. Two other molestation charges were dropped. The children involved were all under the age of 6.

STIMULUS-DRUG TEAMS

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder says Wyoming will receive more than $3.1 million in stimulus money to boost five regional drug enforcement teams.

INSURANCE CHECKS

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Department of Transportation says the state is expanding its vehicle insurance verification system. Beginning Monday, state troopers will automatically get insurance information on vehicles every time they make a stop. The insurance verification system, which began last July 1, had primarily been used in crash investigations.

RETURN OF THE BUFFALO

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A high-profile initiative to spare a small number of Yellowstone bison from slaughter has been delayed until at least this fall, after a Wyoming Indian reservation reversed its plan to take the animals.
