The City of Sheridan has refused to release the names of candidates for the position of police chief. In response, the Sheridan Press filed a lawsuit against the city to get those names. The matter came before 4th Judicial District Court Judge John Fenn on Wednesday morning.

WRIGHT, Wyo. (AP) - Mourners remembered the sacrifice of Army Staff Sgt. Ryan Zorn as the Wyoming soldier was laid to rest. The Gillette News-Record reports that more than 300 people attended funeral services for Zorn on Tuesday morning.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - A fire in the luxury suites under construction at the University of Wyoming's War Memorial Stadium caused minor damage and won't delay the project by much.

Students at one local preschool are being taught a valuable lesson this holiday season. They are learning how to give. The Child Development Center Region 2 serves children in Sheridan and Johnson counties. Students, families and staff from the center have been collecting food for those in need during the holidays. This is the third year of the Thanks for Giving Food Drive.

At a time when many businesses and non-profit organizations are tightening their belts, one local non-profit is expanding. Volunteers of America Wyoming and Montana will open it’s Catering for a Cause program next Tuesday. Community Affairs Director PJ Treide (TRY-dee) says clients across several programs may benefit from the new venture.
