Veterans Day Program At VA Medical Center

It was Monday, November 11th, 1918 when the guns of World War I fell silent at 11AM. Twenty years later the United States Congress created Armistice Day to celebrate the day when horrors of the first world war ended. It was 1954, after another world war and the Korean War when Armistice Day became Veterans Day.

Sheridan Man Charged With Sex Crimes In Domestic Assault

Police arrested a Sheridan man last weekend in connection with a report of domestic abuse. 25-year-old Vincent Scott made his initial appearance in Sheridan County Circuit Court this week. Scott is charged with three felony counts; 1st Degree Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault and Battery, and Child Abuse.

Lummis Holding Town Hall Meetings Throughout Wyoming

The United States House of Representatives just passed their version of the healthcare reform bill last weekend. Wyoming Representative Cynthia Lummis voted against the bill and had tried unsuccessfully to attach amendments to the bill. While healthcare is certainly one of the top issues in the minds of our nation, Lummis wants to hear from Wyoming residents on any topics they wish.

Community Dance To Support Hospice Of The Big Horns Is This Friday Night

This Friday night the historic Sheridan Inn will be the site for the “Dance to the Fireants” community dance to support Hospice of the Big Horns at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cindy Bake with Hospice of the Big Horns explains that the dance is intended for people of all ages.

Smith Street Project Gets Final Touch

Smith Street was blocked one more time yesterday to celebrate the completion of the project, which spanned nearly two years. A few dozen people attended a ribbon cutting at the newly installed crosswalk in front of the Sheridan Senior Center. Senior Center Director Carmen Rideout says all the inconveniences were worth it.

Veterans Day Is Time To Celebrate All Those Who’ve Served Our Country

Sheridan has several Veterans Day events. One is the Veterans Administration Veterans Day program at 11 am in the auditorium at the VA. This year the V.A. is focusing on the story behind the uniform. Col. Kathy Wright of the Wyoming National Guard will be speaking and Ft. Mackenzie students will be reading via video essays about veterans who they interviewed.
