Buffalo to Host NEWY Meeting Saturday

The Northeast Wyoming Municipal Leaders, or NEWY, will have their monthly meeting in Buffalo Saturday at City Hall beginning at 8:30 am.

Bison Boys Advance to Title Game, Girls Fall

The Bison boys' soccer team will advance to the title game Saturday after handing the Lander Tigers a 2-0 defeat on Friday.
Buffalo will take on the Cody Broncs for the 3A Championship Saturday at noon.
The Bison girls came up short in their quest for a state title, falling to Jackson 4-2 on Friday.
Buffalo's girls will take on Cody for the third-place trophy Saturday at 11am.
The track and field state meet continues Saturday in Casper.

City of Sheridan Announces First Round of Layoffs

City of Sheridan Announced Layoffs

The City of Sheridan has announced the first round of employee layoffs. City Human Resources Director Heather Doke says that the layoffs included two full time positions and three part time positions.

Jo Co Incident Command Flood Update for Friday

Rainy weather is expaected through next week.

The Johnson County Incident Command issued an update Friday on the flooding situation in the county. Additional moderate to heavy rainfall is expected through tonight, which may cause minor rises in creeks and rivers, however most will remain well below flood stage or below bankfull.

Wyoming's Gatorade Player of the Year at Work

Buffalo Bison Senior Kasey Esponda, Wyoming's Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year, goes to work on a rainy Thursday afternoon as the 2011 State Soccer Championships got underway by kicking the ball past Powell's Charles Wittick. A few minutes later Kasey would score Buffalo's second score en route to washing out Powell 8 to 0. Buffalo next faces Lander Valley on Field #2 at 4:00 pm Friday.

Larkins & Finley Preliminary Hearings Held

Jamison Finley's and Riley Larkins' cases have been bound over to 4th Judicial District Court.

18-year-old Riley Larkins and 24-year-old Jamison Finley each had their Preliminary Hearings in Sheridan County Circuit Court Thursday afternoon.

Buffalo Senior Mattie Reid follows the ball right through Powell's goalie on a rain soaked Big Horn Equestrian Center field Thursday afternoon. The Lady Bison poured it on and came away with an 8 to 0 win. Scroll down to see Mattie run through the goalie. Next up for the Lady Bison is a game against Jackson Hole at 2:00 pm Friday on Field #2.

Wind driven rain out of the east couldn't prevent these umbrellaed fans from watching as Sheridan took on Rock Springs to open 4A 2011 State Soccer Championship action on the polo field of the Big Horn Equestrian Center just before noon on Thursday.

Not All Labradors Love Water

Tyler Diefenderfer and his Labrador dog Daisy from Buffalo are both trying to stay dry as they watch their Lady Bison soccer team take on the Lady Panthers of Powell. It was very wet Thursday at the State 2011 Soccer Championships taking place on the polo field of the Big Horn Equestrian Center and Daisy didn't seem fond of the wet conditions despite being a descendent of the St.
