Community Rallies to Donate

An astonished Bob Green with Cloud Peak Energy's corporate headquarters in Gillette stands in front of about 1/8 of the supplies donated for flood relief on the Crow Indian Reservation.

When Cloud Peak Energy / Spring Creek Coal put out the call that they would like to bring relief supplies to those affected by flooding on the Crow Reservation, little did they realize how Sheridan County steps up.

After the rains of the past week blue skies returned Thursday afternoon to reveal the beauty of Sheridan and the vibrant pink blossoms of May at 352 W. Loucks. If you drive by it'll turn you into a "rubbernecker" so you might want to walk by and enjoy both the view and the aroma of the blossoms.

Sheridan County All-State Track Athletes

The 2011 All-State Honors are out and Sheridan County has four outstanding track athletes: Wyatt Mirich from Big Horn, Taylor Heaps and Hunter Vineyard from Tongue River and Taylor Kraft from Sheridan.

Governor Mead Signs Executive Order

Governor Mead gives the green light for the Army National Guard to help with flood preparation around the state.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Matt Mead signed an Executive Order today directing the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security and Wyoming National Guard to deploy small teams to help counties prepare for possible flooding.

Raptoround: Standing Proud

"Raptoround: Standing Proud" by Chuck Weaver will officially be dedicated during the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony in Sheridan on Monday morning. The sculpture that portrays a patriotic look was purchased with funds from the Sheridan Media Benefit Golf Tournament that was held last June. It has been placed on the Coffeen & Main Street corner where it will be dedicated.

All-State Soccer Award Recipients

3-Broncs and 3-Lady Broncs earn All-State Soccer Awards. The Wyoming Coaches Association has posted the 2011 4A All-State Awards recognizing six from Sheridan: Zack Will, Hunter Reece, Gabe Dahmke, Rickie Ryan, Nicci Kassen and Steph Sessions.
