Sheridan BOCC Approves Airport Infrastructure Update

The Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners gave the go-ahead for a mini overhaul of some of the key infrastructure at the airport.

SHERIDAN COUNTY JUNIOR HIGH RODEO

The Wyoming Jr high rodeo Assoc. held there state finals in Casper Wy on Friday.

Sheridan County will be sending 6 students to the National Jr High finals in Gallup, Nm June 23-29th.

25 contestants from the state of Wy. qualified to go and 6 were from Sheridan county. The top 4 in the state in each event, qualify.

Created in 2004, the NHSRA Junior High Division was established to bring the excitement of the sport to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and to serve as a feeder system into the high school ranks of the Association.

NEW LADY BRONC HOOPS COACH VISITS SHERIDAN / BIG TOURNAMENT WEEKEND FOR THE TROOPERS

LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - New Sheridan lady bronc basketball coach Jessica Cordingly visited Sheridan high school Monday.

Cordingly takes over the Lady Bronc program following season Yeager's announcement this spring he will be leaving Sheridan.

Cordingly was officially named the coach a week ago at the Sheridan school district two board meeting. She grew up in Thermopolis and has been coaching and teaching in California.

We sat down with Cordingly Monday and she is excited to be coming to Sheridan high school.

Adopting a Plan For the Cemetery

Six months ago a Cemetery Planning Committee was formed with the goal of developing a master plan for the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Monday night, the Sheridan City Council approved that master plan unanimously.

School Calender Voting Coming Up Soon

Officials with Sheridan County School District #2 have put together two options for the District's 2014-2015 School Calender. Parents with students in District #2 along with staff will soon have a chance to vote on the two options.

Miss Wyoming Will Be in Sheridan Saturday

Miss Wyoming 2013 Lexie Madden will be in northeast Wyoming this weekend as part of a promotional campaign by Miss America and the 2013 contestants. Madden will be making appearances at the Gillette and Sheridan Walmart stores.

'March on Monsanto' Hits Sheridan

Monsanto is an American multinational agricultural biotech corporation that calls themselves a sustainable agriculture company, but some say the group is killing small farms and local agriculture as well as causing health problems related to consumption of its foods. This Saturday there will be a "March on Monsanto" in Sheridan designed to raise awareness to the problems posed by GMO foods. Sheridan Media's Chris Foy has more.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation has announced that due to inclement weather, the re-opening of U.S. 14A - a 22 mile stretch of road west of Burgess Junction - has been delayed until noon on Tuesday.
