The Sheridan City Council held a work session Monday with the focus being the City's Snow Plan and Policy for the upcoming winter season.

Signs of the Times

The faithful and reliable signage at Perkins Restaurant and those in the vehicle windows of cars in the Sheridan High School parking lot on Monday morning say it all, "State Champs!" Some of the vehicle signs show the ravages of driving 300+ miles back from Laramie, many via Cheyenne, in extremely high wind and blowing snow conditions.

20-Year-Old Sheridan Woman Dies In One-Vehicle Accident

A one-vehicle accident resulted in the death of 20-year-old Sarah L. Nixon of Sheridan on Friday, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, after she apparently fell asleep at the wheel while southbound on I-25 just north of Kaycee.

Hats Off to those who Drive Champions

Our hats go off to the outstanding crew of Sheridan County School District No. 2 drivers who braved the elements and safely transported the Championship Football team, band and pep supporters to and from Laramie. Six buses made the roundtrip that included a detour through Cheyenne - a departure from the normal route through Medicine Bow on the way home.

BRONCS WIN 2011 4-A STATE FOOTBALL TITLE

BRONCS WIN IT ALL

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs won their second 4-A state football title in the last three years and 23rd overall taking down Cheyenne East 44-14 in the championship game Saturday night in Laramie.

Senior Jordan Roberts was as usual spectacular self rushing for 287 yards and four touchdowns as the Broncs built a 28-7 halftime lead.

Roberts went 29 yards on the first play of the game then Kevin Bakkehaug found Riley Ryan on a screen pass on the next play and the Broncs were out the gate.
