Vehicle Fire On N. Main

Sheridan Fire-Rescue, Sheridan Police Department, and Rocky Mountain Ambulance responded to a vehicle fire in the 2400 block of North Main at 7:15 pm on Thursday. The fire involved a 2000 Dodge 1500 4x4. The engine compartment of the pickup was fully involved in fire on arrival. Fire also damaged the interior or the vehicle. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

UPDATE- The Gilead Fire Incident Management Team confirmed that the fire has grown to 5,632 acres and is still sitting at 5% containment.

Fire On The Mountain

The Gilead Fire now spans 4430 acres 10 miles northwest of Buffalo and eight miles southwest of Story. The fire, as seen here from the HF Bar Ranch and UM Ranch, was started Aug. 14 by lightening, but has grown exponentially in the past week. (Photos by Michelle Jensen)

The Gilead Fire Incident Management Team will host two meetings this weekend to update the public on the Gilead Fire which is located approximately 8 miles southwest of Story, WY. Interested individuals are welcome to attend either meeting.

TENNIS / SWIMMING / FOOTBALL AND THE REST OF THE WEEKEND SPORTS SCHEDULE

SHS TENNIS - Gillette swept the team matches in tennis action at Sheridan high school Thursday. The Lady Broncs dropped the dual 3-2 with Julia Fenn and Hailey Ligocki winning number one and number two singles.

In the boys dual Gillette took it 4-1 with the Bronc's Reed Ritterbusch winning in number one singles.

Today they host Cheyenne East those matches will start at 1:00 and then they take on Cheyenne Central at 4:00. They host Laramie and Riverton tomorrow

LADY BRONC SWIMMING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers host a dual today with Gillette at 4:00.
