The opening tournament of the season at the Big Horn Polo Club was played Tuesday, June 17 at the Big Horn Equestrian Center.

The Polaris Cup, sponsored by Hando’s Service Center, was won by Perk’s Horspital over Magnolia Farms by a score of 7-5.

MVP was Ford MacCarty.

Best Playing Pony was “Kicks” owned by G-String Polo, and played by Richard Dudman.

Larger Parking Lot for Big Horn Campus

Now that the new elementary school building is up and the old is down Groathouse Construction Inc. is busy tearing up the old and putting down a new parking lot for the Big Horn Campus. The addition of more parking spaces will be a welcome addition to the campus as will the landscaping when it is finished in August.

SCSD#2 Board Considers Name Change for Coffeen Elementary

Principle of Coffeen Elementary School, Nicole Trahan, approached the Sheridan County School District #2's board of trustees Monday night to propose changing the name of her school.

Council Approves Budget Resolution

Soon after a public hearing that yielded no public comment, the Sheridan City Council approved the budget for the upcoming fiscal year Monday evening.


TROOPERS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers dropped a 10-5 decision to Helena, Montana Monday night.

Short Stop Conner Mcafferty had a three run triple to spot the troops a 3-1 lead in the 3rd inning but Helena went off for 6 runs in the 5th to take a 7-3 lead.

The Troops would make it 7-5 but the the Senators countered with three more runs in the 7th to put the game away.

It was just their second loss in the last 12 games Head coach Ben Phillips says the breaks just didn't go their way.

First Light Awarded TANF Preschool Grant

First Light Children's Center in Sheridan has received a TANF grant in the amount of $154,986 from the Wyoming Department of Education. First Light Assistant Director Katie Christopherson explains how the grant will be used.

After a nearly two hour public hearing, the Sheridan City Council gave their approval of the final plat and revised conceptual pan of the WYSTAR Recovery Campus Planned Unit Development II Monday night.

2012 Powder River Ranch Rodeo Results

The annual Powder River Ranch Rodeo, the Battle of the Brands, was held last Saturday at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Buffalo.

The annual rodeo features members from area ranches competing in four seperate events for bragging rights and fun.
