VOA Lifehouse Utilizes 5th Step For Addiction Recovery

The Lifehouse, an addiction rehabilitation center sponsored by Volunteers of America, helps those who are ready to overcome drug and alcohol dependence using a 12-step residency program.

Dedication of Grouse Mountain Trail Saturday West of Buffalo

The Grouse Mountain Trail, which runs from Mosier Gulch west to the Bighorn National Forest will be officially dedicated in a ceremony Saturday morning.

The multi-use trail was completed last fall, but the Buffalo Trails Board decided to hold the dedication this summer.

JCSD1 Awards Contract For Meadowlark Drainage Project

The Johnson County School District One Board of Trustees, at their meeting this week, awarded a contract for a drainage project at Meadowlark Elementary School to Hot Iron Incorporated of Gillette.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers ran their record to 18-3 overall as they swept a double header in Spearfish, South Dakota last night.

The Troops took the first game 9-6 Lucas Giesey got the victory they beat Spearfish 13-8 in the second game with Josh Loseke picking up the victory.

Loseke and Drew Adrieans also hit back to back home runs in the night cap.

Next up for the Troopers is a double header with Sturgis , South Dakota tomorrow night at Thorne-Rider stadium the first pitch will be tossed out at 5:00.

Accident Scene near the Old Woodland Park School

Around 2:00 pm Wednesday this Chevrolet Cavalier apparently tangled with a cement truck and ended up upside down on the west side of Coffeen Avenue near the 5100 block. Two Rocky Mountain Ambulances were on the scene and at least one person was seen being loaded into one of the ambulances. Also responding to the accident were the highway patrol and unit 205 from the Sheridan Rural Fire Department.

Neighbor Helps Contain Fire On North Heights

A photo released by Sheridan Fire-Rescue shows evidence of the tall flames that climbed a garage on North Heights Avenue Tuesday afternoon. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but is believed to be spontaneous.

Sheridan firemen were called to North Heights Avenue Tuesday afternoon to extinguish a residential fire. Dustin Shaw, an observant neighbor, saw the flames and notified the homeowner of the situation.

Deadline To Register For Kids' Bluegrass Camp Friday

Friday is the deadline to sign up for this year's Big Horn Mountain Bluegrass Camp for Kids.

The camp will be held at the Johnson County Fairgrounds July 4th through the 6th.

Search Continues For Escaped Inmate

James Friesen escaped from the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp Monday. Though there have been confirmed sightings, he is not yet captured.

A prisoner, James Friesen, was last seen leaving the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp in Newcastle Monday morning and has not yet been located, though there have been confirmed sightings.
