No ECA Increase: SCSD1 Disucsses Joint Education Committee Recomendation

SCSD1 Superintendent Marty Kobza says he's disappointed with the discussions that took place at Wyoming Legislature Joint Education Committee meetings Tuesday in Casper, where the committee made a recommendation not to increase the K-12 External Cost Adjustment for district one for the third straight year.

The Sheridan County School District No. 1 Board appointed an official School District 1 board member to the Sheridan Recreation District Board during a regular meeting Tuesday night in Ranchester.

CHEYENNE (AP) - A new study says 56% of the new students entering Wyoming community colleges aren't prepared for college-level courses. In addition, 23% of new students entering the University of Wyoming need help with math.

Sheridan College Rodeo Standings

An update on the standings, Sheridan college Men’s team is currently 9th place, with Casper College and UW leading the standings.

The women’s team is 11th place with CWC and NJC in first and second.

Jake Mangis is in 6th place in the team roping, which is very good considering we have been averaging 95 teams at our last 5 rodeos.

He is one of our best competitors and has a good chance to qualify for the CNFR, since his team roping partner had to sit out 3 rodeos at the start of the year, they have placed at every rodeo since they started roping together.

25 Now Dead in Listeria Outbreak in Cantaloupe

WASHINGTON (AP) - Twenty-five deaths in 12 states are now linked to listeria in cantaloupe, the deadliest known outbreak of foodborne illness in the U.S. in more than 25 years.

REGIONAL VOLLEYBALL - The Lady Bronc volleyball team will open up their regional tournament against Cheyenne South the match will be played at 11:00 Friday morning. The north 4-A regional is being played at Cheyenne Central high school

The 2-A East regional will be played in Sheridan Friday and Saturday at Sheridan high school and Sheridan college.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles will face Pine Bluffs in an opening round match Friday at noon at Sheridan college.
