It was 21 years ago this spring that my old friend Loraine Ocenas emceed my 50th birthday party and claimed its theme was: “How does it feel to have your future behind you?”

My answer, of course, was “my best years are ahead of me” and indeed, that turned out to be true.

Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

SRD ADULT SOFTBALL - Next week the Sheridan Recreation District opens another season of adult slow pitch softball they have leagues for co-ed teams, women and men.

Colton Thompson is the adult softball coordinator for the Rec District team registration deadline is this week.

Participation in the adult softball leagues has remained strong for the last several years and Thompson says they have leagues for all skill levels.

Buffalo Law Enforcement To Take Kids On D.A.R.E Trip

Law enforcement officers with the Buffalo Police Department and Johnson County Sheriff's Office took area kids to Rapid City, South Dakota May 5th and 6th for their annual Drug Abuse Resistance Education, or D.A.R.E. trip.
